FORMATION:

Nothing is more important than the way we care for one another.  Pastoral support is available for day-to-day issues as well as in times of personal crisis.  Our entire community ministers together to offer God’s loving presence whenever life becomes more of a burden than a blessing.

If you’re facing a life-threatening illness, consider asking our community to lay hands on you and anointing you for healing during a Sunday celebration.  You can also request anointing as a family or even a private rite.  Contact Susan Lowrey.

Spiritual direction can offer ongoing guidance, dialogue or simply a ministry of companionship  for those who want to deepen their spiritual life.  Contact Susan Lowrey.

Pastoral counseling is also available as a limited resource to help you address significant personal issues.  A maximum of five sessions is possible.  Contact Ann Webber.

If you’re shut-in for short or long periods, you can receive regular visits by members of our community.  Eucharistic visitors provide a link to the community for those who cannot be with us on a regular basis.  They can also bring communion to you.  Contact Ann Webber.

Sacramental confession is a private and confidential service with our priest.  Contact Ann Webber for an appointment.

Now his elder son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing.  Luke 15.25

Music and art are important parts of our life as a community.  Our worship gatherings, performing artist concerts, art shows, classes and small groups all use the creative energy of music and art as a spiritual practice.  In fact, innovation and creativity are some of our core values.  We want to create a community that naturally attracts people who can express their own creativity or enjoy the creativity of others.  Our community canvas is filled with a diverse, energetic population of interesting and interested people.

We use music and art in unique ways.  The entire community becomes a choir whenever we gather.  We make our own textiles.  The prayers are fresh and new each week.  We move around and make a communal pilgrimage together each Sunday.  And the music you won’t forget.  There’s a lot of it and we love to sing together.

Our musical heritage is one of the world’s richest and most deeply spiritual.  It’s an extremely diverse and multilayered art that brings together many different traditions from England to South Africa, from the Americas to Asia.  Gospel, blues and tribal tunes all find a home with Baroque, Renaissance and early music.  If it connects us with God, then we’ll use it.

Canterbury Choir

A choral ensemble of professional standards that does much more than just sing.  They are true musicians who bring out the spirit in all of us.  They sing, they drum, they play a variety of instruments, they use music to create a spiritual experience right in our midst.  Rehearsals are Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm and on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am.
